What are the little marks/pits on their heads? I've noticed that mine have them. Are they just a feature of bichirs in general or are they something that the young have and later grow out of?

I bought it when it was all of about 2.5", now it's almost 5 and growing a lot faster that my normal senegal.

I never noticed the little pits (in any of the bichers I've ever kept) until I took these pictures. *weeeeiiiiiird* lol
I guessed they were just supposed to be there.

I bought my normal at PetSmart. They're just waaaay too cute and teeny to not pick one up.

I got the albino at an LFS. Sold as an "albino palmas".
The $4 price tag more than made up for the misID.
