hello guys, i need help.
i have no idea why my Alligator did this.
he started doing this when i started feeding him a different fish than his usual diet, milk-fish and prawns.
i don't know what that fish is called in english, and i tried to google for pics of that fish using it's philippine name but i can't find a result.

last night, i returned to his diet, milk-fish.
then he threw-up because the next morning i saw hundreds of fish particles/residue i don't know what to call it lol floating in the tank.

anyone had the same experience? or know what is happening to my Gar?

i dunno what happened but this is usually really bad from my understanding. hope everything is alright

My Arowana Did this when i switched the type of prawns i was feeding. Your Gar
will be Ok

aro are a dif fish entirely than gar.

But fish are fish and all are the same!.:nilly: haha

(That was not directed at anybody on this thread, just a reflection of what I hear all the time)

it kinda eases my mind that someone had the same experience with an Aro and the Aro became alright.
but as a Gar keeper, and as Lepisosteus platyrhincus, Gars are a entirely different fish from an Aro.
so i'm still quite nervous.

well, just a little bit of info, the Alligator Gar never acted weird(except for the throwing up thing)
he's still doing his usual thing, just staying chill in the tank and getting air from time to time.
i'm gonna try switching back to prawns and see what happens.
maybe the milk-fish wasn't that fresh anymore or something >_<

I wouldn't worry if i were you. The feeder fish probably didn't go down properly and your gar regurgitated because it was feeling uncomfortable. I've seen my snakehead, gar and arowana all do that before.
