He never keeps his mouth open near any people and has never snapped at anyone, he had random burst of energy where he'll run around the tank and climb around and out of the water just to jump back in but he's been very healthy so far. He always has a constant supply of feeder fish and every now and then some shrimp. I may be looking to sell him though, not sure yet. I'll post some more up dated pictures later on, if you have any tips on taking care of these guys don't hesitate to post them either, thanks! :)

I have a theory as to why they keep their mouts closed when being handled.
At that age/size, they look alot like a piece of bark or wood. And if their main defense is camoflouge wouldnt it make sense that they stay absolutely still?
Oh and get ready, mine turns 3 in january and it has just started getting agro when handled, it was strange for me. Turtle(thats its name) never really did anything when handled, now that he's bout seven inches long, he opens that mouth right away.

nice...
