Just like the title says my amazon sword started grow a stalk and then slowly miniature amazon swords started growing off it. Now there are roots on both of the miniature swords. When should I remove and plant them? Also, how do I do it?

just cut em off and plant them. doesnt matter when, just as long as they have big enough food leaves...

i think there supposed to fall off after a time, but it doesn't matter as said above.

the only thing i would tell you is once i completely removed the stem, and it never grew another one, may just be a coincidence.

I'll see if they give away easily from the stem.

you can break them off with your fingers/nail - it's good to wait a bit when they grow they own roots ;) the one pictured is ready to go - just try not to plant it too deep and make sure the roots don't "roll" up - trim them, make sure they are in the substrate - swords are HEAVY root feeders, they LOVE iron ( tablet or fertilized to the water column ;) )

yup, I agree with the previous post . . . give 'em a little time to develop some roots and then you can pull/pluck/pick 'em right of the stalk and re-plant as desired . . . in the past I have kept a smaller tank (3-5G) just to hold the new plants until I have a use for them . . .

thats so stupid you waste your time with plants my fish wou;d just eat haha

why would you even bother to post a comment like that? if you don't care, just move on . . . don't be a tool . . .
