Hello all I thought I'd share my little cichlids - although in the case of the Macmasterii they're not so little anymore.
The tank is heavily planted, with lots of bogwood and stone caves. As well as my Apistogramma its also home to a pair of immatue Ancistrus who make farily quick work of any eggs - which is a good thing at the moment as I'd be overrun !
The three separate species cohbait very well - the males in particular displaying well to each other wigh no agression. When the female becomes gravid each adopts its own territory - the Macmasterii even excavating a cave underneath a piece of bogwood with Java fern on it in the sand.
Anyway, enough preamble.
First off my A. Macmasterii male & female :
Here's the male in all his finery :
Female Macmasterii with eggs :
A. Agazzi :
And finally the A. Panduro - these were bought as a tiny pair and fed up (as are all my Apistos) on glassworm. We nicknamed the female "dinky" because, she was !
She had a slight bit of damage to her tail - which has now healed.
And here's the male now almost fully grown and starting to develop that lovely blue colouration.
