This hobby has got me hooked every since i started. My Sister wanted a Goldfish. She thought it would be a nice touch to have a bowl with a goldfish in her room. So down to the lfs i go, pickup a goldfish with a bowl, some food, some decor, the fish, a net etc. So now i want one, so i am at school one day and my teacher has some goldfish and guppies, the guppies had babies and she offered me and my two friends 2 guppies each. so i went home and put them in this "huge" tank, it was a 2g bowl. But of course that wasn't enough. I went back to my LFS, bought a pleco and some more food and it resulted in this.

So I was asking people at school if they had any fish tanks. Luckily one of my friends had a 12g that he didn't use any more for his RES. I brought it home and set it up. Stupidly, i never took a video.

The pleco died as well as the guppies and also the Neon tetras that weren't featured in the video.

I setup the 12g and went and bought 3 Zebra danios, 3 Neon tetras and one platy. I woke up the next morning and the platy was dead but the rest were fine. Needless to say all the fish died due to beginner mistakes (not cycling, over feeding, too few water changes etc)

So i was reading about this great fish called a Oscar fish, of course i wanted one because of their beauty and color. Next day i had a oscar in my tank. He died because of 2 cases of ich, one i cured the other i didn't.

After that i learnt about filtration, cycling, over stocking etc. I bought an angelfish, 3 guppies, and 1 platy.

Meanwhile all this fuss i had a 2g betta tank (the "huge" tank) and a 1g guppy tank they were breeding like crazy. Any and all fry were fed to the angelfish but i kept 2 of them.

Here is the result of that tank:

Soon after i had that tank established i moved over seas back to america. That's when i joined MFK and got my 55g and other 2g setup. I have made some progress with the 55g tank.

pretty cool. Nice pics man.

Nice journey! I also have a similiar journey story as well but I don't have any pics of my old set ups due to back in 1995 we didn't have digital cameras, instead we had the old trusty polaroids.
