I have a 75 gal aquarium. It has 3 African Cichlids and a Pictus Cat. It has been setup and cycled since November and I have been slowly adding fish. Well it is time for me to add some more but I have a Black Algae problem I can't get rid of it. The substrate is white river rock and it was used previously in the aquarium when I had a variety of tropical fish in it. I had the same problem in the aquarium then too. The aquarium has been thouroughly cleaned and even moved to another part of the house where it gets no natural sunlight to it. Anyways I don't want to add anymore fish to the aquarium until I get the problem fixed and I am thinking about removing the rocks completely and cleaning them does anybody have any ideas of what to clean them with to kill the algae completely or any other ideas about how to get rid of it. Here is a picture of the algae on the rocks. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
