Hey guys. I've had my armatus for around 3 weeks now but a few days ago i realized that the tail of my fish has a long redish brown horizontal streak on it tail. The streak starts from where the tail starts to where it ends. does anyone know what it is?? I doesn't look like a injury since the fin isn't ripped or tattered. It's not bloodied or anything. What could it be?? Could it be the diet of my fish? So far I am feeding my armatus feeder gold fish since of training it off live.. Could I be the nutritian deficit?
My water quality is mint.

What else could it be?? My armatus looks healthy and active other than that. Will it heal?

Thanks.

My camera absolutely sucks so the streak doesn't really show.. plus the armatus is constantly moving... the streak is nothing impressive. Sometimes it seems to fade when it's bright.
It basically a thin brown streak that extends horizontically from one tail end to another.

Sounds normal to me, based on your description.

what do you mean?? RU saying it's normal??

can anyone post pics of their armatus' tails? I never noticed the steak until 3 days ago. Nothing major.

Check out the "armatus identification thread" in this section. There are a TON of pics of them there.

thanks dude but those photos don't distinctive show it. I guess you know what I mean which is good. My armatus has a dark brown streak that obviously stands out though.

How big is he? As they get bigger, it's whole tail will turn brown with a white edge. I figure your fish is probably about 6-8" and justnow coloring up. Am I in the ballpark? :)

I know your camera sucks, but post pics anyway. I wanna see him! ;)

ok will do :) Ya it's around 5 inches. Quite a stunner.
