Just the other day i noticed that my aro must had struck my return pipe, bending it back a lil ways and cracking the bulkhead in one place. You can see in the picture that the pipe is bent back and sticking out of the water a little bit. I dont want to move it yet because i think it might make it worse. In the second picture you can see the top of the bulkhead is bent and at an angle, the black line would be how it originally was. The last picture shows the crack in the top of the bulkhead. No leaking so far at all. The bulkhead is old, i never changed it because it was heavily glued and plugged on purchase. Im trying to think of a way to fix this problem without draining my tank. Because i have a 2'++ aro and large catfish with no other place to store. I have an extra tank but i dont think i can set it up in my living room, parents would kill me. I was thinking about adding a high pressure check valve before the bulkhead, and hope that whenever it breaks (if it does) i could just put something on top of it inside the tank to alter the flow of the returning water. If it doesn't leak from the bottom. Might just use aquarium silicon the bottom of the bulkhead hoping that it doesn't break apart so it will last me a little longer. Any ideas?

that is one butch aro :headbang2

plug up the underside and pull off the output bar. then take a large bucket and cover the bulkhead and have somthing/someone hold it down. then unplug the underside to release all the water. you should be able to have a small capsul to remove the old bulkhead with. and you can have the new bulkehead sitting inside the bucket so when you take off the old one you can just manuver around and pull the old one up and screw it one.. NOTE. dont use glue on bulkeheads... you defeat the purpose of the gasket

it probably wouldn't take too long to fix, just set up your other tank for a day or two. You dont have any decor in the tank so that makes it a lot easier. I've had to replace a broken bulkhead too but my tank was only 70 gallons
