I had a jaguar and silver aro in my 180. My turned up sick and recently died. I am pretty sad about it. I have had bad luck with aros and refuse to get another. What tankmates would be good for my jaguar, and how many could I squeeze into a 180?: My filtration is pretty big, and I like a well stocked tank.

It does not have to be that the jag killed the aro there are several mfk members who have this setup aro and jag together rallysman is the only name i can think of right now thats got a steup like that.But web2844 said it was sick so it may have been natural causes i think u could put other large cichlids in with the jag theres a good list of different types in the above posts i suggest more jags mabey u will get a pair they color up real pretty at spawning time.lol
What size is the jag? I have a small one 2" in with a zonatus and gt and female con while I am growing them out. When he(hopefully it is a he) gets larger I am going to try him with some of my veija's a mayan and maybe a fh. Vieja are so colorfull and can stand up to the more aggresive cihlids. A red devil might work too. Anything that you add you will need to keep an eye on because a RD and Jag can kill anything they decide that they want to kill. In my experiance (3 jags i think were female) they get along good with other tough cichlids till about 7". If The Jag was not messing with the Aro, it is probably not that aggresive, but it all depends on the individual fish. Good luck and keep a divider handy if you don't have a spare tank. JAG'S RULE! 
The jag wasn't too aggressive. He didn't bother the aro. I just went fish shopping. I picked up a fh, convict pair, and a red devil. the jag is by far the largest fish. He is about 6 inches, and everyone else is pretty tiny. I hope everything works out.
