alright guys.. im moving... i got an aro thats 20+ inches right now....
i have been told ARO's do not move good....
( more in size more fragile ) wether in true or not IDK!!??!! i will be moving about 1hr 1/2 away... what are my chances of keeping him alive?? i have a big igloo ice chest to put him inn with batterie operated airaters... but will he survive the drive and wait time, also breaking down his home and loading it up??? for the move??? any suggestions??? any help??? would he/she do better bagged up w/ oxygen??? problem is i dont think theres a big bag made for it that size??? lol..

or should i just SELL HIM???:grinno:

i forgot to mention... i also have a 200 gallon drum to put the water in and a 150 drum also... so the water is not the the problem... its the drive and wait time....?? what do you guy think...

thanx, to everyone who has spent a lil time reading this... and givin me any advice that might be helpful...

I transfered a 21" silver aro in a coleman cooler with no problems, but the aro was only in the cooler for two hours. Sounds like you'll need to get it into a temporary tank while you get your aros tank set up and moved. What are the dimensions of the 200g and 150g drums?

200d 3x3x3 & 150d 2x2x5..

well i have no temp. setup @ the new house all my tanks are goin @ once... tryin to avoid L.A & O.C traffic... shootin for a 1 stop deal...:nilly:

if you have a koi store around your area, ask them if they could give you a big since they do sell 30"+ kois.

i'd transfer the aro in the 200g bin, the large water volume will be your best friend as far as minimum temp and perameter swings.

you mean the 200gal drum....?? thats a no go cuz the intake hole is not big enough for him to get caught out...lol

temp tank would be at the old place, once the regular tank was setup at the new place you can move the silver in a cooler.

A temp tank could be a bathtub, cheap walmart swimming pool or large rubbermaid bin. just need to keep airated, heated and cover(so aro don't jump out). Maybe even buy a 75g just to use for this, then resell afterwards.
