Hello, I have a 18" arowana that is in a 125 gallon (yes i know its too small please do not call fish protection services). He will be in a 240 gallon (by himself) within the next week or two. Anyways, in the past he has jumped and smacked the top of the tank a few times resulting in a lost scale or two. I spooked him last night by adding a new background to the tank. He jumped and knocked a few scales loose and screwed up his barbell. Both barbells are in tact, but not useable for senseing right now. He probably would not have jumped if i had him in the 240 or if i just left the origional background on the tank. Well regardless, he jumped. His barbels are screwed up. I feel bad for my buddy.. I hope that they will heal back . Have you ever encountered this? HOw long will it take? couple months? Do they grow back to original size and function? Should i treat the water with anything to help him out? I have added stress coat. Thanks

I say bump up the temp to 85-86. Add aquarium salt, make sure water is very clean make sure he eats well. The better u do these things, the faster he heals.
