well i havent done an update on my bad boy but heres a pretty crazy story that happened over the weekend.
He/Shes about 18 inches now and really coming out of his shell... not that thats been a problem in the past, but he(we will call himm a he for now) really seems to be changing his personality ever since my gar moved in with him, which suprised me cause i thought he would hate the gar but really doesnt mind.
Saturday was my senior prom so i came home at about 2 and wanted to check on her. I never turn on the tank lights from pitch black cause i d-ont want him to through a fit so i turned on the garage lights on dim just to check him out. and low and behold something iv never seen happened. He was laying down.
I freaked cause he has never layed on the bottom sd i turned on the lights. He just stayed there.
now.... my tank is 180 gallons and has two topsto it with handles that open like a lid and stay attached in the back. But theres a tiny TINY opening in the back where the HOB filter hangs.
back to the story, i was stairing at my prized baby laying there wondering WTF he was doing and WAMO! he went balistic,...... now, i have seen some arowana freak outs from this guy but this beat it by 100. He shot for the top right top and hit it so hard... BTW the top is solid glass and about 5 pounds just to open it.....hit it so hard that it lifted and clunked then shot left and did the same CLUNK again then back to the right sweeping the surface of the water blowing bubbles( my gar) down the the abyss.. you know how gars are.
Then it went silent. I peaked down to see him and he was gone. SON OF A B****i said not again.
then the silence was broken by the distinct moist flapping on my garage floor. I ran over took about 20 seconds to get a gentle yet solid hold on him then realised i couldnt open his tank cause i was not about to risk holding him with one hand and dropping him, its bad enough his hit my garage floor 2 times from a 180 tank on a stand. So i ran back to the hole and slid him on on only to see a scale the size of a nickle sink with him.
this is the 5th time he has jumped out of his tank all of them were in front of me during feeding and cleaning. now i dont reaaaly have a question with this thread just wanted to share how crazy my arowana is. Hes so freakin mischevious but i love him cause hes not alway like this. Just sometimes has a ****fit.
...........................i shouldnt of woken him up lol
