hi guys,

this is the update of my yellow tail arowana..

now for about 7 weeks, it already grew up to 4.5 inch...

but i noticed something, in about last few days, maybe about a week..my arowana started to eat less...it like to spit back the cricket after crunching it...if i put 3-4 crickets, maybe only 1 be eaten, the rest just dead meat..

now already transferred to new home, from 2ft tank to 4ft tank...but still it won't eat the cricket

what should i do now...water temperature clocked at 28c, i have no ph reader, but the ph should be suitable

my tank setup

water heater
power head 35wt, max flow 24L
4 foot x 2 foot tank, with gravel at the bottom
filter media, top filter with nice quality sponge and bio ball

What else is in his diet??

fishbum&iloveoscars702

yup, the diet was only crickets, when my arowana still about 2-3 inch, i do gave it small carp as the diet

previously, it ate about 3-4 crickets per meal...3 meal for a day following schedule

this problem started for the past 2 weeks

try giving it pellets and fillets as well. crickets could potentially cause a blockage with the hard skeleton over time.

for fillet i don't think will do

for pallet, is it just a normal pallet for koi will do?

*i always took out the cricket skeleton legs before i feed my fish

Cut up some tilapia ,soak it in garlic guard, then freeze it.You can do the same with market shrimp. Also try some freeze dried krill.

freeze dried krill has always got my aros back to normal as far as feedings go, but i've noticed the same behavior sometimes when feeding crickets.

Crickets have an exoskeleton, not an actual skeleton. Even if you took off the legs, the rest of the body is still the remaining exoskeleton.

it is hard to find hard krill and to make a fillet from tilapia from my portion

or else, is it ok to feed it with koi's pallet? the round shape pallet
