most important is clear water - clean filters fully bio'd up & good food the fish will heal it's self if it is livining in the right condition's

clear water = ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10 to 40 but swollen scales are usually a very bad sign in my experience its related to some kind of a bacterial infection. keep water clear and salt it up 1 or 2% temperature 27 to 29 celsius. water change 30% twice a week ( make sure to not add chorinated water ) no need for melafix ( feels comforting to use but it dont help bacterial infection ) there is one product that may help but i dont remember the name right now. but i will find it tomorrow and post it.
good luck

Some medication that may be effective Potassium Permanganate make sure you read the instructions very carefully before using. or you can also use Furan 2

those are the meds i have used in the past on very sick fish. theses med will affect the BB in your tank .

Swollen scales are a VERY BAD sign requiring immediate attention.

If it's just single scale then it could worms, multiple scales dropsy.

In any case, keep clean water add salt and if you think it could be dropsy add metronidazole in prescibed dosage.

Act fast or you're going to have a bad day

If you use Potassium Permanganate, keep in mind that all your bioload will die.
