My LFS has a 4" albino for $40 Its been there for 11 months and hasnt grown an inch. I offered them $10 for it but they refused. I was just feeling bad for it, it looks so lonely.

seriously, pet stores won't feed these fish anything but flake scraps so that they won't grow. They know if they grow that people will not want to buy a big brut catfish for their tanks. I just bought a tsn that had been at petco for 4 months and had only grew about 1". I've had him 1 week and he's already grew another inch!
These are one of my favorite catfish. I had one for years. I bought him when he as 2" I didn't noticed until he got bigger, but he had no eyes. He was still a cool cat though. I kept him in a tank by himself to ensure he got food, but sometimes I wonder if I really needed to separate him. He seemed to find food without too much difficulties. Unfortunately, he died while I was away on my internship. My Dad said he put him in a rubbermaid to fix his tank cuz it sprung a leak and 2 days later, it died.

but yeah I love mine unfortunatly my gar ate my otherone
man i used to have a fat asian red tail. he got his ass kicked b y my arowana. in the morning the water was extremely dirty. they i found him stuck in the filter with his body bitten in half. quite heartbreaking. i was gona put him in the 18 foot pond. damnit carl.
