I recently picked up a pair of Azuls from arowfan.
They haven't spawned before, but were part of a group and then isolated when arowfan noticed them pairing up. When I saw them in their tank they were certainly a pair, with all sorts of dancing, and had dug a hole in the substrate for preparation. They're about 15" each right now. I have bred green terrors, and red texas in the past. However the mother did most of the hard work, and the spawn took fry powder immediately.
Diet: Pounding nothing but massivore. Feed them 2-3 times a day
Temp: 82
Maintenance: 33% wc twice a week
Setup: 90g. Overflow with DIY wet-dry; inside of a tub. 1st drawer is filter sock. 2nd is filter floss. 3rd and 4th is fluval biomax, and plastic scrubbies. I put an airstone in the 4th and 3rd drawers. Light is on 8 hours a day.
So I have to ask the experts, what do you guys think I'm missing? Any tips/tricks/pointers you could provide to promote healthy breeding?
I appreciate any advice and constructive criticism you guys could offer.
Thanks,
Kevin
