I recently picked up a pair of Azuls from arowfan. :headbang2 They haven't spawned before, but were part of a group and then isolated when arowfan noticed them pairing up. When I saw them in their tank they were certainly a pair, with all sorts of dancing, and had dug a hole in the substrate for preparation. They're about 15" each right now. I have bred green terrors, and red texas in the past. However the mother did most of the hard work, and the spawn took fry powder immediately.

Diet: Pounding nothing but massivore. Feed them 2-3 times a day

Temp: 82

Maintenance: 33% wc twice a week

Setup: 90g. Overflow with DIY wet-dry; inside of a tub. 1st drawer is filter sock. 2nd is filter floss. 3rd and 4th is fluval biomax, and plastic scrubbies. I put an airstone in the 4th and 3rd drawers. Light is on 8 hours a day.

So I have to ask the experts, what do you guys think I'm missing? Any tips/tricks/pointers you could provide to promote healthy breeding?

I appreciate any advice and constructive criticism you guys could offer. :D

Thanks,
Kevin

You need a bigger tank!
One ATLEAST 2x the size they are in....180g min.
No more fish needed....but a bigger tank for sure!

Beauty pair!! Bigger tank will probally help big time! What some of the guys that are very succeaful breeding New worlds do is small water changes daily. Around 25 to 30 percent. Try first with warmer water changes and you can also try cool water changes! Experiment and see what happens! Good luck

thanks guys! obviously a bigger tank is in the works, but i'd like to wait it out through the NE winter
