Hey guys!

Ok, I have three Indo's at 1.25'' long. I've had them for two week now and they seem to be growing fairly fast as I can easily tell they are getting thicker and longer in length. I've been feeding them 3 blocks of frozen mysis shrimp daily and treating them with one serving of freeze dried blood worms every other day. Is this an acceptable diet for the little guys until they are big enough to accept small chunks of market shrimp? Reason being is I have 10 more little Indos coming from my LFS this afternoon or tomorrow morning.... I just want to make sure this is enough variety for the time being.

they stomachs must be huge, but if i were to power feed to try to make them grow faster, i'd feed a 3-5 times a day with less (although some dats won't grow that fast..) i feed my 6 baby dats (same sizes) 2 blocks a day. Only problem is that one of the little ones won't eat so i give him a feeder fish every week just so he doesn't die..

but you can feed them market shrimps, just make sure you cut them into small pieces.

Ya when they eat, they blow up like balloons. But the cool thing is that they eat it all. thats a shame that the one won't eat, hopefully none of mine will do that.

I just got the call about my indo's. They're here! I'll post pics asap.

Just a word of warning before you get more Dats; get some gill fluke treatment on hand. They are very susceptible to it and it can kill them very quickly and spread very fast if not treated very early. My whole tank is infected with it (3 IT Dats and one Delhezi) and i lost 2 Dats, i used to have 5. It really is hard to lose a Datnoid. The food sounds great. If they are eating, that is a very good sign. Just feed them something with variety. I feed my Datnoids brine shrimp, Blooworms and Mysis shrimp and they all go insane. Their stomachs should be very sizable when they finish eating.

Thanks for the heads up, bro!

I created a thread a week or so ago about gill flukes and dats. From my short time of keeping dats, I found out to always have a bottle of Prazipro on hand. its really great stuff!
