My RD pair just had a bunch of babies and i now have them in a ten gallon with an air stone. do i need to filter the water alot? do water changes everyday? and what dop i need to feed them and how fast will they grow. any help would be greatly appreciated

Buy a sponge filter, I would change about 1-2 gallons daily for increased growth rate. Feed them baby brine shrimp, daphnia, microworms, vinegar eels. You could find started cultures online for the vinegar eels and microworms. For the baby brine shrimp and daphnia could be purchased frozen.

you need a filter, at least a sponge. and water changes daily a good for fast growth, as far as sustaining life, id say at the very least do weekly water changes.
when you set up this 10 gallon did you take all the water from the parent tank?

you can feed them honestly almost anything. a decent variety is going to be good for health and color. baby brine, crushed up flake or pellet, egg yolk, daphnia, anything that is fish friendly and small enough to feed will be fine.

Agree. Increase the temp too for growth. 84ish is decent!

x2.
i do 84 degrees in one of my baby flowerhorn tanks and along with daily water changes, id say he grows noticeably bigger everyday.

ok cool, as of now all i have is flakes and shrimp pellets that could be crushed. will this do or do i need to buy some of the mentioned food above? and what exactly is a sponge filter? also what is the growth rate in the first couple of weeks as they are really really small right now

The baby foods mentioned have large quantities of protein for the babies so you need that more than normal foods.

A sponge filter is a round tallish sponge with a pedestal like base. You connect an air pump to it with air tubing. It acts as both an air pump and filter. Buy one already established so you can add necessary bacteria for the babies.

ok cool, i think i might have one of those that was part of an undergravel filter? does that sounds about right, it has a long plastic tube on it that

I don't think they were part of those filters. I could be wrong... LOL Just ask to see one at you're local fish store so you can tell its what you have.
