Hello community,
I been reading lots articles on this forum for a while and finally decided to join in today.

I have a quick question and hope to get some answers.

Just bought this 2” baby red tail giant gourami from a local fish store. I have seen other RTGG shows some colors already around the tip of the tail and dorsal fins. However, by looking at my baby RTGG it’s still not showing any color at all. He is eating good and I just had him or her for two days. Should I be any concern or take it back and exchange to another one with more color?

Thank you community!!
Rick

I’d give the fish a week or two to settle in before worrying about color. Also, with light sand and a white wall behind the tank could certainly wash the fishes color. I’ve never kept one so is a generalization of fish overall.

These gouramis will not usually show much color until they get close to a foot or more in size, and not show a complete array of color until they hit 2 feet in length.
That’s good to know! So I don’t have to sit in front of her everyday to see any slight coloration lol! I literally sits there every lunch and dinner time to see if any color pop at all…😝
