Here is my Boy Sugar Ray:D

Hes doing great and eating like a garbage disposal!
Do Rays know when to stop eating?? He ate so much last night, that the beginning of his tail couldn't touch the tank. His stomach was so stuffed that it raised the back portion of his body. I never feed my fish more than 6pcs of Market shrimp in 1 day (2pcs at 5:00am and 4pcs around 5:00pm). I know I will need to give more food as they get bigger, but for now I'm at this pace.
Yesterday I added 5pcs for dinner and Sugar Ray (my pup) ate like a cow and was just wondering if he knows when to stop? Does this sound normal for a growing pup (there was about 1/2pc of shrimp left after an hr)?
Other than that, hes doing Great!!!!!!
Sorry for the pics as SugarRay was on the move:D

They will know when to quit eating.. atleast my retics do.. I think we had this debate once.

Looks like a very healthy ray and it's a great sign that it is eating that vigorously.. The daily 'puffing' of the rear-end, aka J-Lo Booty, is a good conditioning method for younger rays and pregnant rays.

Keep up the good work!

Great to hear about a ray that won't stop eating! Nice little motoro...

Thanks:)
I'm trying and feel pretty good for a beginner:D

Don't kill 'em with kindness though!

Keep em mind every lil shrimp turns into ammonia at some point, and you want to make sure your filter can efficiently break it down before it can harm the fish.

I give them about 1hr to eat everything or it comes out.
The day before I do H2o changes, I try to feed more.
I do H20 changes every 4 days...

Nice ray, IMO you can overfeed a ray or fish...

Simply imagine what its like for them in the wild.

I usually give my rays a few days off from time to time, but only after I cleared them of parasites and beefed them up..

I quit feeding krill when they quit eating it.. right before bedtime :D

Just took this pix for you tho!! :naughty:

Looks like the same J-Lo physic as mine did:ROFL:
I tried to feed Muscles, but no one ate it (tried for a week and a half).
Any other options for food to keep his hips big besides worms:ROFL:

Wow he looks nice! Very fat and healthy!

Keep trying mussles etc.. he will learn to eat them too!

How big is he again? 6 pcs seem like a lot of food for such a little guy, but that is a good thing!
