Just looking for a little feedback on this. Thoughts, comments, ideas on improvements, before I put the final stock in the tank (125G Mbuna tank)

I gotta say the next background I make I will try and go the drylok route. While the concrete was fun, it was a bit of a pain, in more ways than one. Looking forward to finding out about the difference between the drylock and the concrete.

Looks great. Only thing I would to is add a little highlight color to it. Or not it looks fine as is too.

Just my 2 cents

Looks great! I'll bet it weighs a ton though...

I like the concrete backgrounds that I'm seeing on mfk, I just don't want to deal with the leaching that comes with it.

Did you seal yours with anything, or did you just let it sit and leach for a couple weeks with regular water changes?

Let it leach for a few weeks. Wasn't too big a deal. Just threw in some duckweed every few days and once that stopped dying I knew the Ph was low enough to actually test (at first it was about 12)

Total the three pieces weigh well over 150lb. two of the peices got shattered, and all three got hairline cracks that soon grew to much larger ones, but after a few patches and lots of TLC it has settled down for the most part. That is why the coloring is so..weirdish...I put the last few layers on inside the tank, and was focused more on not having it crack than I was on the coloring. Eventually I will get some java moss in there and it wont be nearly as much of an issue.

Also you should get some algae growth that will make it look a little more like natural rocks as well.

By the way, the cat in your avatar is wicked freaky lookin...

Lloks good. Do you have a link on how you did it? I have seen it done with types of styrene too.

Lol yeah that was taken right after she accidentally fell into the indoor goldfish pond. She was not too happy.

I'll try and get a writeup for it here if you want,I have one on another forum. Its just styrofoam/spray foam and concrete
