Thanks V! I believe he came in about the same time with some of yours back Nov/Dec of 2014. He was 5" then. I took over him in Nov 2015 when he was 7". He's just barely 9"-10" now, still lives comfortably in 1/2 of a 60-gal tank.

Looks healthy but why such slow growth? 4"-5" in 2+ years, is that a norm for platinum RTC? Come to think of it, I have probably never seen or heard of one bigger than 1.5'-2'.

I ask myself the same question. I got my first one about a year before that one, and the first one had been in the 24" range. This one has quite an appetite, but not growing so much, and it had happened even before I acquired him. I had the same thing with Wels. Bought two at the same time, grow them in the same tank, with same feeding schedule. One grow twice as fast as the other. The bigger one came out more yellow, while the small one came out more white. I just picked up another "platinum" rtc. Will see how it goes
