i made this a while ago using a large end table(Interior is about the size of a 40breeder) The top is plexiglass w/a hole cut in the top for the heat lamp.I will be puting a glass front on soon because the screen idea sucks big time. This was my first real attempt at building a terrarium.

yeah but then it will get scratched quick, and i'll just get a thicker piece of glass and it should still be cheaper.

Use Lexan instead .... home depot has it and its better suited for the wear and tear of claws. It is also more flexible than plexi.

isn't lexan almost the same as plexi? Won't it scratch just the same? And can i use reg. glass cleaner and a paper towel to clean it? because that scratched my plexi right away.

No it is not the same for the reasons I stated above. And I wouldnt use those products to clean the glass anyhow no matter what the front is. Just use plain ole water with a towel or paper towel
