I have them in a big fish bowl (I'd post pics but this forum doesn't let me for some reason) and they are there with another female but she's really young. so it's two females and a male.

The male and the adult female are swirling around eachother under the nest and her belly is big. what do i do now?!?!?!?!?!?

do i take the young female out and leave the male and adult female together or what?

P.S. the bowl is very nice and well planted with fake plants but it's really cool.

I've never bred any fish before, im freakin' out... I didn't think it would work.

Take the smaller female out.. Then once the eggs are laid..(u can see small white dots in the nest) take out the other female.. Leave the male in.. He will take care of the eggs and the babies.. 3 After they hatch..u can add some brine shrimp..(not sure of the food yet.) but i fed mine water fleas... Keep the male in for a week or 2.. Keep him in till the babies are big enough to swim and can move around properly...

Keep us updated..

Ok, I'll take the young female out in a little while when they are done... the nest is a bunch of little bubbles, how can I tell if the eggs are laid?

Right now they are both under the nest just lurkin around it and looking up at it.. they are also hungry, should i feed them?

Will the baby's exept fish flakes? that's what i feed the guppies... (ive bred guppies and mollys and stuff, but never bettas)

Also, why take out the females? are they a danger to the babys? Will the mother eat her own babys?

The male will kill the females. He sees them as a threat to the nest...

The nest will contain the eggs, you will simply see them, this is how you will know. Once the pair do their dance she will release her eggs. As the eggs fall the male will scoop them up with his mouth and spit them back up into the sticky bubble nest. What is your substrate? If you have gravel the male might have a harder time gathering the eggs once they fall down.

The females should be removed because once the male gets a nest of eggs he will protect it till no end from the other females and possibly attempt to kill them...

Ok, theyve been doing their little dance for hours. Every time they rub up with eachother she just lets out a bunch of eggs and the both help pick up the eggs and put them up on the nest. When are they going to stop?

My substrate is gravel, they are having some trouble but there are so many eggs it's like WTF? her belly is still full too...

When do I take her out? They seem to be in love or something.... Plus he can't kill her, he's tried to for a while before she finally gave in to mating with him. They are in a big bowl that's heavily planted. she can just move away from him and hide behind one of the bushes.

Either way I can take her out, but when? They've been dancing for hours.

Also, some of the eggs have actually gone through the gravel and I don't think they will be able to reach them. I guess those are just unlucky ones?

He can and probably will kill her. How big is this bowl, about 5 gallons?

Just wait until they stop and he chases her off to take her out.

Even if they've gotten along for a while, the parental instinct will take over and he will try to kill her once she's done laying.
