I purchased him today and my African Clawed Frog nearly swallowed him but I got it out. Neither was harmed apart from the scare but now my BGK is having trouble swimming. It kinda starts, then it topples over onto its side. It still gets around but it swims on its side

well i would say it was injured, how badly only time will tell.. but it is also stressing big time..strange place and then suddenly almost eaten, you cannot expect it to recover that quickly even though you saved it, his balance is off which will occur from his close call,he has matter of factly to say the least had the wind knocked out of him.. leave tank light off and let him relax and hope that he will pull himself together, stress all by itself kills fish,he had double whammy of stress. Poor little guy, hope he will be okay.

ok thank you very much for your advice

When I was trying to get him out of my frogs mouth, only part of its tail was sticking out

The head and body were in the frogs mouth? How were you able to pull him out.. he definitly was lacking oxygen at some point to a degree then.. i hope not enough to cause him mental damage.. hope for the best..

I didn't really pull him out. I just started chasing my frog around the aquarium and was grabbing him. That got him scared and he let go of the fish after a min or less

:iagree:

He is acting better now. He swims better and when he lies down on his side he relaxes instead of moving his fins and kind of jerking around
