why is it that my bgk often stays in the left most side of my tank even if there's a driftwood where he could easily slip in through?prefers to stay in the open even in daylight, always in a vertical position.
BGK have different temperments. Most bgk like to hide in daylight some aren't. Some like pellets only, some like worms etc. Your bgk is comfortable in that section of your tank. Another thing that I have observed is they usually like places that are dark colored like powerhead filter etc.
Try adding more driftwood in your tank or give him some caves.
Is he still a little fellow? Newly acclimated BGK's might behave differently than one that's accustomed to a tank - everytime I move mine from college to home he/she explores the tank first, acts differently. Is he the only tank mate? He might just be enjoying his space if that's the case. I think eventually he will hide, which will be sad(er) because you can't see him.
