MY bichir ate dog food

well i have feeders on their tank actually the guppies are breeding in their tank and i ran out of fish food so i gave the guppies some dog food instead and one of my bichirs ate the dog food

They can def. go a day or two without food. Next time I would wait.

Me too. Polypterus don't normally eat horse.

that is kinda a good sign since dog food is a floating food that means your bichirs can eat floating pellets.

Ive been feeding my knifes reefs and oscars for 5 years on cat food.

By "reefs", do you mean coral reef tanks?

If so, you may be completely correct, as may high-nutrient environment corals thrive on dissolved organic particulates.

No warm water reef here i keep cold water native stuff just some starburst anomenes hermits urchins crabs
