That nigerian lapradei is beautiful! It's a shame that in a month or so it will darken up completely because of the black sand.

Thanks. It is a very nice looking. I think I was told it looked good on black, but when I upgrade my tank I think I'm gonna mix red or orange sand with the black to bring out the color.

I disagree! It will look great darkened up a little, even a lot. Sweet fish!
 
Black substrate will simply green the Lap up, and reduce contrast of the patterns.

Some people like this, personally I prefer having nice contrast over uber green.
 
thanks for the comments everyone. The lap is already starting to turn green on its head. At the moment I don't mind what color it turns. I'm just making sure they are all fat heathy and happy.
