Been growing these fronts since they were fry themselves. 4.5 years now and they're finally breeding and holding fullterm. Sorry my camera and photoskills suck... I got 2m, 4f.

do they grow fast?

They grow fairly quickly. Most larger cichlids do. The best part is, the incubation period is 28 days and the fry are pretty large to begin with. Getting females to hold that long can be a bit tricky at first though and it may take a few broods to get it right. My little fronts are doing great on crushed quality flakes.

I would say they grow slow, not fairly quickly. They may get bigger than other fish, but if you compare growth to potential growth they are really slow growers. Much slower than other large cichlids.

gorgeous... i have one that is 13 inches.......i love him the best

agree. fronts are very slow grower!! they take forever to grow

My fry grow quickly (thought this was the Q), but yeah, they seem to slow down around 1.5-2". Growing them to adult sizes will take a few years. Took me over 4 years to get them mature enough to breed, and they are still growing after close to 5 years!
