He is only 4 lbs and 18 1/2 inches but my personal best. I used a weedless leech..I had bigger hits on a weedless spro popper but I couldn't set it for some reason. Snapped the line the second he hit shore my friend dove and got stabbed by its spine. I might put pics up but I got no idea how :P.... I wanna go for some 20+ inchers in a underfished pond by my house.. hits but never hooked..and extremely weedy..tips?

Are there lots of thick floating mats of vegetation? If so get some weedless floating frogs and throw those with at least a medium action rod and some 20lb braid.

hmm 20 lb braid.. I have 8-10 lb monofilament... Never used braid before

hah whats so good about braid?

braid is alot better than mono. also try a torpeedo at the edge of the weeds just befor night fall thats when i catch my 5 plus pounders...

Im getting a new reel cuz mine kinda died(The mono bore holes in the side and the line got frayed) Have any suggestions? Ill just get it strung at gander

Normally I prefer ordinary mono, however when you're throwing weedless frogs into heavy vegetation, you need very strong, very abrasion resistant line with little to no stretch. When you hook a fish in this situation, they will try to dive down in the weeds, and you need heavier gear to horse them through all of it. It's pretty much the only time I throw braid. Mono is cheaper, less visible, and versatile, so I use it in pretty much every other situation.
