No, they do not need a screen cage. I actually have been researching them for a while, and it seems they thrive and breed in glass tanks. I guess, because they come from the leaf litter, they do not require much airflow. They need humidity of at least 75% in order to do well. So the glass with a plexiglass lid really helps with that. The upkeep seems to be very similar to dartfrogs, except they need slightly larger prey and lots of climbing branches.
