My bisher keeps floating ? :(

He will swim around really fast then float up 2 the top of the tank and them swim back down to the bottom and his colors is paler than usual ?

is it a delhezi? I have found that they like to spend most of their time at the surface lurking. more so than other bichir species.

Also keep in mind young senegals like to spend time near the surface in cover

My roughly 4-5 inch senegal spends a lot of time near the top in some floating wisteria or around the driftwood, maybe you could post a picture for the color?

Bichirs do spend time floating at the top but the really question is, is he just swimming up and staying or does it look like he is having trouble sinking down? If he just swims up and hangs its fine but if he can't keep himself down or looks like hes having trouble its bad.

does he look bloated? he might have a swim bladder infection? try all the disease remedyies, water change, salt, temp increase and lights off. is there anyone bothering him in the tank? sometimes when they are stressed they will swim at the top.

For a few day he couldn't stay down but I did a treat ment and he's ok
