I got this Black Aro at last month and he grow up very fast...the time when i got him is very "black" and now no more "black".

Recently he got some problem on fin and tail "breaking", and I had use the API Pimafix for 1 week but it seem nothing happen.

Now I had change to use the API Melafix, hope it works.
Got any suggest? Thanks.

I feed it mainly with Hikari Arowana Food sticks and crickets, the water tempreture is 30-31C (without heater).

Stick with the Melafix for injuries. I usually keep feedings pretty light while I'm medicating. That way I don't need to do 2 or more water changes per week and remedicate each time. I'm glad you finally got your black aro :)

add salt and melafix and as they grow big they tend to lose there black coloration

I would stay away from meds just salt and time ,is it being picked on by another fish? If he is eating than he will be ok don't complicate the situation with meds, its natural for the black to disappear.

Actually the fish is not injure, just the fin and tail broke with unknown reason.
OK, i will reduce to feed him when the medication, can i feed him twice a day (morning and night)? or just once per-day?

Yes, i got use salt too.
Yup, i know the black aro will lose his black coloration when the reach around 12+cm.

I know meds is not good for any fish, but i am afriad that his tail will all disappear...

The water i keep in top quality but stil cannot fix this problem, and i have use salt too.

I keep him single in a tank, no any other tank mate.

looks like finrot

some arowana do break fins...

I've seen a Silver arowana whos fins were broken up...

but ur case tho.. its rather interesting.... I hope ur Blk is recovering..

Thanks for you opinions.
According to the Melafix instruction, i need to use this med non-stop for 7 days then change 25% water. If the fish haven cure then continue again...but 7 days without changing any water i afriad that it is hard to keep the good water condition.

My place is in tropical, 88 degrees (31 C) is the normal water temp if it is not raining day...unleast i use the water chiller.
