My black wolf - need more infor on this species ...

Finally got my 10" black wolf ... currently housed in a 2.5ftX2ft tank with some similar sized channas.

can anyone tell me the actual species name. Is it Hoplias Curupira..?? can also point me to some basic info abt this species?
I was told they can grow up to 16", wondering if its correct....

Yes, IMO its a Hoplias curupira, ive heard some guys say up to 18" but mine isnt there yet.

Love the pics.

They Can actually get slot bigger in the wild, approching 30", it's in captivity wHere it is difficult to get them to anywhere near that size. This can be due tomany factures including water quality and diet. Nobody really knows. You are doing well to get it above 16" unless it has been captured at a large size. I am doing my best to get mine as big as I can.
