I read all these stories about these fish being so aggressive and not being able to be kept with anything. Mine is opposite. He is about 9" and gets punked and beat on no matter what i put in with him!

It's still a baby at nine inches.Come back and post about it when the fish is about two feet in length.

Im power feeding him. Had to put him in a tank by himself just bc he kept getting beat on.

bowfin, from my understanding aren't generally aggressive, they are an ambush predator in the wild and the wild ones I've seen cohab with pike, muskie, bass, and an assortment of sunnies.

They certainly do not have the aggression level of some snakeheads and wolf fish but I had a twelve incher that wouldnt take no mess from most of the other fish in the tank.

oh I definitely believe they would defend themselves lol, I've just never seen or heard of one that was outwardly aggressive over much of anything.

Me neither come to think of it.They do have the teeth to tear some stuff up though.

My bowfin was he same way, even when he reached 18". He wouldn't eat anything but sinking pellets. Wouldn't even look at another fish as food.
