Is that even a possible question?? I see a lot of threads on FH's and their humps but not BP's.. maybe I'm not looking in the right spot. But I was curious why it would grow.. cause I know nothing of the subject. I used to not feed a lot of live food cause I read somewhere on here that it wasn't good for the fish.. that it was a tease to feed live sometimes only. So for a long time I didn't, but here recently I started to feed them more of a variety cause I felt bad and thought that they needed more that feeding them out of a container. So this past week I fed ghost shrimp twice.. and some fresh shrimp (1 change). I recently added an eel 12', they hadn't had any new tank mates for about a year (2nd change). Other than that it has been pretty much the same living environment.. and does anyone know what's up with the white spots??

The first pic is from last week..

That is crazy. I've never seen a bp with a nuchal hump. It looks like its growing into a fh. But from what I have read about fish with those humps is that the Humps usually come and go depending on hormonal balances and temperment. It should go away in due time. It kind of gives it a sort of individualistic look to him. As for the white spot. It could be ammonia burn? My betta got quite apps on his fun like that. They turned or to be perminant :(

thats cooool man
this is the first time,,,,, i m seeing something like this......
BLOOD PARROTS with humps......
gr8 man....

That makes sence, both of their tubes are looking fuzzy... but they have breed before and it's never happend before... this is the first time it has ever been noticable.... So is this weird for a BP??

no, its normal. After they are done trying to spawn, the hump will shrink again.

I am wondering if the hump is the fat reserve during spawning.

Thats all the kok/hump is is fat. I have seen this on blood parrots before but only on older larger ones. My female kinda has that.

Thanks guys much appreciated.. I was just a little worried because I thought he might be stressing out cause of the eel.
