While I was feeding my natives, my brown bullhead decided to come to the top for meal worms. He would come to the top and open his mouth periodically. Then I started dropping worms in his mouth.

I thought I was going to loose a bluegill pulling a kamikaze move to snatch a meal worm. A medium bluegill went straight for the worm, at top speed at the same time the bullhead did with it's mouth open(bullhead). The bluegill went in to the catfish's mouth up to mid back. The catfish looked like "What the..oh well" and closed it's mouth. At the same instant the bluegill was like "OH SH...!!!! BACK OUT!!! BACK OUT!!! FASTER!!" and went out of the catfish's mouth at full speed!!! All of this was done in 4 seconds. LUCKY ME AND BLUEGILL!!!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet the waste created by that Bluegill was much bigger than the worm it was about to eat!

That happened with my channel cat (when it was 13") and my bullhead ( when it was 4") were feeding. The bullhead wouldnt let go of the worm when the channel came by him and grabbed the worm and the poor bullhead got sucked into his mouth up to the base of the dorsal fin, Ive never seen a bullhead let go of food and split so fast XD

Wow my story is close to the same my channel cat was feasting on some chicken livers when my yellow bullhead decided he wanted a piece of the action he came too close cat sucked him up he got out moments later ive never seen a bull head move so fast in my life.

I wish I could get my bullhead to eat out of my hand. He comes out to Massivore on the bottom, but as soon as he sees my hand move at the top of the tank or a close a glass lid he freaks out and bolts into the nearest hole. I don't know how I can get him to stop being so skiddish!

They get less skidish as they get bigger. My 10" brown bullhead comes to the surface and waits for me to drop food in his mouth. :D He eats shrimp right out of my fingers (if I can get them past the JD :irked:).
