My Butti Died

I came home from work this morning to find that my newly purchased Butti had died. He looked health, but I'm not sure that my pike didn't have something to do with it. I noticed the pike was keeping him away from his cave. It's hard to believe that a fish that small could kill another one though.

that stinks... was it a juvi Butti? I had a few and they aren't that tough when they're small

Yes, he was a juvie. I went back and got another one today. I put him in his own tank this time. The store owner also said that they were not as hardy as some other Cichlids.

He was probably about an inch and a half or so long. I got another at the same size that is doing fine. He's probably close to two and a half to three inches now.

well i had a buti with my flowerhorn and it used to get pecked on all the time but never died.
