this happened a while back, but i stumbled on the pics and thought i'd post what happenes when you don't mind the road.
i was sitting on a bridge waiting for the car five vehicles ahead of me to make his left turn. it was a 2 lane road, wall to wall traffic at 1650 hours friday.
i was just going to work. so i looked down and my watch and it read 4:50, so i thought, nuts- i will be late for work at this rate....then WHAM! like a bomb went off i was thrown forward. i was ok though, no whip lash or anything else- i'm a strong guy. i kept my foot on the brake pedal though fortunately.
its excellent that i did keep the my foot on the pedal since the impact did propel my car into the red ford in front of me. if i had not kept my foot on, the accident could have harmed the other cars ahead of the red ford in a multi car cascade type of collision. at least that's what the policeman said.
a ford explorer suv had rear ended me at high speed- the policeman and witnesses guessed 60 mph on 35 mph speed limit road.
i had kept 250 pounds of concrete bags at the back of the trunk near the taillights for ballast for winter driving. it was still there- i was lazy to get the stuff out. the cop said it probably saved my life.
my car was smashed, the frame is bent and well, see the pics...
her car, the suv that rear-ended me, was all mashed up. where the engine was just a heap of twisted, destroyed metal. the cop thought the concrete absorbed alot of the kinetic energy and translated it to the engine of the suv. i tend to go with that one.
the guy in front me had twisted frame on his car and wrecked bumper. he was driving the car though a week alter when we ran into each other at the pet store. he has a case of whip lash too.
oh and by the way- why did she hit my car on bridge when traffic is wall to wall on a two lane road? she said she wanted to go around me to the right, which was the creek...
my car was a '98 plymouth breeze. she was very good car- way better than the toyota camry.
