My Channa Stewartii has missing scales on his head

I came home from work one day and noticed missing scales on my channa stewartii’s head. My theory is that he tried to jump and hit his head on my tank’s plastic lid and lost some scales. Anyone have any other ideas or theories? Anything i should be concerned about? And how long will they take to grow back.

Alright thanks! Do u think those clip on nets are better than a weighted plastic cover? Afraid that this guy will injure himself again

Lid doesn't matter as long as it is not to sharp. Also it might be from any spark edges in the tank. This is trauma not an illness.
