My chemical filtration

i finally got some media bags fine enough for the purigen.
picked them up from petsmart(thanks for the tip lowcel)

so i added the 1L of purigen to the top tray of my Fx5

also put a fine filter pad on top,

for the matrix carbon i added a half liter on top of a half liter of some kents nitrate sponge in my sump( its split off my return line and then recirculated through the sump)

i can say just from the looks of this carbon its much better then the 'premium' carbon ive used in the past. the old stuff would need to be rinsed for ever before it was ready, the matrix was 1 2 3.

so i did a 70 % wc before adding all of this.
my nitrates came back around 10 ppm

my water looks clear

cant really tell from the pictures but its very clear

but ill wait and see what kind of results i get with this added filtration,

as for my goal, i guess extra clear crystal clear water and the need for less wc's. i m doing 60% weekly currently.

one of my rescued oscars is getting hithm so my new goal is to have o nitrates we will see

well so far the purigen has done nothing at least from what i can tell, the nitrates have been the same, and the water clarity is the same as well. except i think some of it is floating around in my tank now, i need to buy better media bags.

but im not giving up yet ill still see if it does any thing fot it
