I have five chinchillas so I thought I would share.

What is the proper care of a Chinchilla? Special food? "Dusting"? ???

Well I give them chinchilla mazuri, I find it's the best. They need a dust bath, they rool around in it like crazy. I give it to them once a week, then I clean the chin room. They need a clean environment and need a box to hide in a feel secure. They need a big cage, they love to climb. Chins also need pine and cuttlebones to chew on as their teeth constantly grow and they need hay for their digestive system because it's sensitive. They love raisins, go crazy over them. Some are tame, some are not. It just depends on how much they have been handled as babies.

That's a lot of furballs! Mine started matting her fur and bit whenever I tried to comb it out. Nice "mansion" for them.
