Dont know whats going on but all of my cichla have been crowded up in the front corner of my tank. They havent moved for hours. Have no idea whats going on. First time they have ever done this.

If your water is fine than i would say something on the other side spooked them .They might have just scared themselves or someone barged in and was to loud and waveing there arms around something like that:ROFL:ive scared mine like that..

Yeah they seem skiddish. But they been like that for a while now and got me wondering. The are practically laying on each other. Every once in a while one of them twitches back forth. Other than that they are staying motionless.

Whats the water ? Amonia nitrite nitrate? and temp ...

I have found that's pretty normal behavior for groups of adolescent cichla. Mine can be found doing this, such as when the lights come on, after one has been chasing another, after cleaning the tank, or being spooked, or after a huge meal, when taking pics (they hate the camera's sensor light) etc. You must have not had them for too long, if you haven't noticed this before.

My pbass did this once for a few days and after I did a large water change, they went back to there playful selves. I'd check you water params.

I've had these cichla from late June early July and this is the first time they have done this. They have hung out together before but today it was like they were just a ball of cichla.:nilly:

Also my temp is set to 84 and just checked my PH and amonia levels and they seem fine. I did do a water change 2 days ago. They do seem more lively but still in the same corner.

have u had a dead fish before in that tank? might be a ghost fish sighting at the back and they don't like it :p

nice cichlas none the less!
