Hello everyone! I been a member in this for a little while but never posted an ad. I read alot of your questions and answers. Right now I have a few questions. I have A male F1 festae about 3.5-4 inches another festae almost 2 inches but cant tell the sex yet. Along with a 3 inch cichlasoma ornatum, 2inch red istlantum, 3.5 inch EBJD and a 2 inch carpintas texas. All are in a 120 gallon tank that I made a custom backround for out of styrofoam (unsure how to spell that)and cement coated. All have been healthy in this tank now for a few months. Just recently every fish in my tank is chasing (attacking) my smaller festae cheating it out of eating most of the time, and it has no where to go but in the top corner of the tank. Im sure this is really familiar to the cichlid hobbyist. Do I need to remove it and keep it in the 55g tank to itself? I'd hate to have to keep one extra tank running for one cichlid but I don't want it to get mauled up or starve to death. Also the bad part of the extra 55g tank I have seems to be having my fish get sick to where they dont eat and start looking too thin. For instance, when I feed them and I know they're hungry, because they will dart straight for the food, but they spit it right back out. I tried live brine shrimp, pellets (cichlid gold) blood worms, and micro crabs. Should I recirculate my tank by draining all the water and start over and buy new filer pads? or is there something easier I can do? Keep in mind trying to avoid keeping a 55g tank for a 2 inch festae by itself. If I have to, I will. Please leave me some feedback.
Thanks Jess
