My Cod :(

I've been wanting a Murray Cod for ages now but I never seem to find any at Aquariums or I'm too late or something like that.
Well the Other day I found one, the only one this random fish store had so I bought him.
So I bring him home and float him for about 10-15 mins because the water they had him in felt as if it was around 18-20 celcius( I keep mine at 24-25)

He seemed fine when I let him out, he swam with my 3 Barramundi for a bit, then explored..... I turned my back and next minute he was floating on the surface dead...

Any ideas as to why this happened?

Possibly, but I floated him for a good 10-15 so I kinda ruled that out.
And I doubt my Salmontail Catfish(Biggest fish in the tank atm) would of attacked him either.

Usually, drip method would alleviate ph shock, I would think

if there was a 5 celcius difference in temp then 10-15 mins of acclimatising isnt really enough
