Hi, my Common loves mushroom. If you leave it to float the Clown Loaches probably won't get it. I also feed floating pellets and when I feed cucumber I let that float. Commons are very acrobatic and will manage. HTH. :) My Common eats from all levels of the tank but I think the floating food is good exercise for him. I will sink it for him when he gets old.

In the dietry thread, theres a list of things you could try.... growing is a good thing, but don't rely on one thing anyway. Variety is the spice of life.

Try feeding the pleco blanched cucumber, zuchin, par boiled potato, melon (not too much too often though), de-seeded tomatoes etc- most of these foods will need to be weighted though as they don't sink well, but they make good foods for such plecos. Also try feeding large de-shelled cooked prawns, squid, mussels etc every now and then too (like once a fortnight), these are good foods to help ensure the pleco is getting enough protein in its diet.

What is "fortnight"? Just wondering if it is english slang or typo.....

I was just told by an elder (my mom LMAO) That it means 15 days......Any truth to this?
