Got a few cichlids recently not sure if it’s going to work in the long run but having a bit of fun at the moment scaping and watching the cichlid behaviour. The thorichthys pasionis are really great to watch flaring at each other guarding they’re little caves. Only about 1 inch at the moment and there’s 4 of them.
Also got 4 discus
6 Geos
And 4 albino heckelii

Nice fish. Only real issue I see long term is the discus, but otherwise a great stocking!

Depends on the individual fish, but I wouldn’t want to risk discus with any other cichlid.
I don’t have experience with any of these species, but I know that if the acaras or thorichthys start getting mean, they can cause a problem.

My experience with Pasionis was that they were pretty mellow. The Heckelli can get a bit feisty. I'd keep an eye on them if anything, the geophagus should probably be OK. Can't tell tank size but looks decently big.
Very nice scape! Entries for tank of the month are closed this month but next time you should enter!

Gourami Swami Gourami Swami thanks for your input pal, just fancied doing something fun as I’ve just upgraded the rays that were in there into a different tank.
I’m finding this to be very interesting to watch between the pasionis territory wars and the geos constantly sifting.the heckelli are just going along with the geos at the moment but will defo keep an eye on things here especially as these fish mature a bit.
I do plan on upgrading this tank in future but not sure if il put monster fish init or have a bigger version of something like this.was thinking of adding some meeki in there as well but not sure if it would cause to much chaos.

The biggest issue is the different water requirements in ph and hardness. The pasionis need a higher ph and hardness than the others. By CA standards they are peaceful but to dicus they might be too aggressive.

Toiletcar Toiletcar my water is naturally just below neutral but I add a bit of crushed coral in my sumps as it has zero KH. My water is then around the neutral mark with quite low KH and GH. Is this fine for pasionis long term. My discus and umbee’s have bred in this water but would it suit pasionis. I don’t really want to have to chase ph’s etc.not really 100% on what I’m going to do with this tank long term but I am enjoying the pasionis behaviour at the moment.
