My convics bred now but...

The Male has reared all the babies under his wing. Until yesterday the male and female parents were ok. Like normal they would both try to prevent me from looking up close to the tank with the guarding behavoiur. Now the Dad is chasing the mom to the point where she is hiding from the male/babies. Now shes a loner? What triggered this? What can I do?

he probably thinks she's a threat to babies. ive read other threads where people said that happens and one will kill the other. if you have another tank or a divider you should probably pull her out. check out the other threads.

they usually do this when the females ate the babies. lol

He views her as a threat to the babies, get her out while you can or he may kill her.

He obviously does not feel she was caring for them. So he has taken over raising them. But me may allow her to start parenting the babies again. Until then you better watch them because he will kill her.
