My new 4" pink convict has lumps on his head. they look black and blue, like someone cave at it with a baseball bat. They have these fish scab things on them sometimes. when he scraches off the scabs he bleeds again. they shrink and appear in diiffereent ares. what is going on. are they injured cichlid humps?

Wow weird. Maybe he keeps bumping his possible nuchal hump. Take all the deco out of his tank or put him in a Q tank so he has nothing to scratch it on. When you mean shrinks and comes up on different in different places do you mean like all over, sides, head, etc?

first time i thought it was just head troube, then it reappered above on off his eyes, slighly slanting his swimming. they are not huge lumps, but big enough to notice.

they could be tumors, take a photo and see if there is a fish vet nearby and see what he/she says

Could also be ulcers. If so melafix should do the trick
